Dear CBC Peeps,

Our first race of the 2013/14 season will be held this Saturday, December
7, at Snow Mountain Ranch. We will be running a Sprint event: 10km for Men,
Jr. Men; 7.5km for Women, Masters Men, Jr. Women, Youth Men; 6km for
Masters Women, Youth Women, 15-16 boys & Girls; ~3km for Tots. The race is
a three-lap, two shooting bout affair, Prone, then standing. Interval
start, 30 second gaps. While I would usually include course maps with this
announcement, I have been waiting to see how much snow accumulates this
week at SMR. While the crew there has done a *fantastic* job with the
early-season snow they've received, the conditions as of two days ago are
not quite up to race snuff on key connectors for many of our usual courses.
So, with your kind indulgence, I will wait until Friday to see where the
race-ready track lies. Course maps will be posted Saturday morning at the
range hut.

As always, we are requiring that all adults pre-register. You can find
the link to an on-line registration form here: http://www.coloradobiathlon

On-line registration closes at 5:00PM MST on Friday. Kids can still
register on race day.

Last, but not least, some of you might have noticed the weather forecast.
It's looking like a cool weekend ahead of us. Given the frosty temps, I'm
planning to run things on a slightly more relaxed schedule:

9:30 - 10:30AM Registration and Bib pick-up at the range hut
10:45 - 11:30AM Zero
11:45 Kids and First Adult wave race start
~12:45 Second Adult wave race start

Note that this schedule is about 1 hour behind our typical race-day

Feel free to email me directly with any questions or concerns. Looking
forward to seeing you Saturday.

Walter, CBC President
