We've filled the spots for the clinic already, but I'm happy
to put names on a wait list.
Those of you who have contacted me, you should have received a response from me. If you haven't do let me know know. If you have signed up, and end up being unable to attend please let me know as soon as possible, so I can fill your spot from the wait list.

Subject: Beginners clinic and mock race event. 2/11/18
We will be hosting a Beginner Biathlon Clinic and Mock Sprint race on Sunday, Feb 11th from 10:00AM until
(Note: If you are hoping to train and not attending the clinic please plan on using the range outside the hours of 9:00AM to 2:00PM on that day.)
The idea is for newly Red Book certified would-be racers, youngsters, and folks who have raced but don't yet have a good feel for how to manage their races, want some basic help with shooting position etc... The clinic and practice meant to be a springboard for those who want to race.
All participants must be 14yrs old or older, capable of skiing to the range and participating in a ~3km practice race, and be comfortable enough on your skis and willing to do some drills and get on and off the shooting mats. We will also ski a little together to talk about pacing and course management.
It is highly preferred that participants have gone through Redbook certification. If not, let me know that you have not, and what your experience is and decide if this is the right place for you to start. (I would just require red books; no need to introduce complete newbie safety hazards)
If you are 14-18 years old you must bring a properly filled out event waiver signed by your parent or guardian. An adult must come with you to oversee you for your safety. A single adult may supervise multiple kids. Please discuss these plans with me via email when signing up. If you're an adult please bring your own filled out waiver.
The clinic will include:
-Target function overview
-Basic shooting instruction
-Range procedure help
-Race management tips
-Race overview (and zeroing tips for those with their own rifles)
-Practice/Mock 3km sprint race
Club rifles will be provided as needed, please let me know if you will bring your own rifle, or be using a club rifle. If you bring your own rifle , please be sure your ammo is .22 lr standard velocity (hi-velocity is not permitted).
Please email me at secretary at coloradobiathlon.org<mailto:secretary at coloradobiathlon.org> or schwabm3 at hotmail.com<mailto:schwabm3 at hotmail.com> to sign up or ask questions to see if this clinic is a good fit for you.
I will send an email to the participants with a few more details and info and a recap of this again before the event.
Cost is $14 for adults, Free for 18 & under. Fees are to cover the cost of supplies. Paypal to secretary at coloradobiathlon.org is preferred payment, but please wait to hear back from me that there is still room
in the clinic before submitting payment. Participation is limited to 8, and will be filled first come first served. A waitlist will be maintained if needed.
