Hello Fabulous Volunteers!
The IBU Biathlon World Cup at Soldier Hollow is right around the corner. We
are all very excited as it is quickly coming together.
In the meantime, below is important information:
*WE NEED MORE VOLUNTEER SHIFTS COVERED IN ALL AREAS. *
*Please forward the attached form to anyone you know that would interested
in being a part of this exciting event.*
*In addition, we would appreciate if anyone can increase the number of days
and/or number of hours per day you are volunteering if possible.*
This is the first international biathlon event of this level in the U.S.
since the 2002 Olympic games. With the popularity of biathlon in Europe,
the event will be televised live to millions of viewers. We are expecting a
large spectator crowd at Soldier Hollow so are having a Winter Festival
with live music, food trucks, beer garden and spectator activities on
The size of this event requires hundreds of volunteers. We have had a
fantastic response to our call for volunteers, but we still need more! If
you or anyone you know is available to volunteer for this event, please
complete the attached form and return to me asap along with a headshot
photo for credentials. Volunteer shifts will mostly start around 9:00 am
and end between 3:00-5:00pm each day.
Thursday, January 31 6:00 pm Volunteer Orientation as Soldier Hollow.
If you have not notified me that you will be at this meeting, please reply
asap so we have a good head count. We will *NOT* be distributing uniforms
as originally planned. We will be going over basic event information and
use this as an opportunity to connect with others you will be working with.
We understand many of you are out of town, therefore, unable to attend.
There will be additional trainings for your positions.
Volunteer Check-In, Credentials, Uniform Distribution
We will be set-up in the lower level of the Soldier Hollow Lodge beginning
Monday 2/11 morning.
A tent is set-up for all volunteers and staff members working the event.
The tent will have foodservice that includes light breakfast items, snacks
and beverages all day and lunch each day.
We really appreciate your help. We could not put on this event without each
of you. Thank you so much!
